What would you give for a good night's sleep?

Did you know that the average week old baby sleeps for
16 1/2 hours a day? It's probably best not to speculate on how much sleep the average week old parent gets!

Cots, Cribs and Beds
Newborn babies can sleep in a cot straight away, but most parents prefer to wait until their baby is around four to six months old before moving them into a cot. You can expect your baby to sleep in a cot until he’s at least 18 months old, and up to when he’s 3 years old, depending on his size and his adventurous nature - once a toddler starts to try and climb out of a cot, he’s outgrown it!

Sleeping Bags & Bedding
Get your baby into a sleeping bag at the right age and it makes for peaceful nights with no need to go in and tuck them in again on colder evenings. A sleeping bag will make it harder for your baby to climb out of his or her cot so it can sometimes extend the length of time you can use the cot before thinking about the move into a bed.

Baby Monitors
A baby monitor is a system that allows you to hear or see your baby when you are in a different room. Systems vary but all have two units - one to transmit your baby’s sounds and one for you to have by you for monitoring the baby. The most commonly used monitors are sound monitors, but there are also visual monitors which allow you to watch your baby on a screen, and monitors which check the temperature in your baby's room and your baby’s movement and even breathing.
