How
to choose a baby monitor
|
Respiration (apnoea) monitors
These are extremely sensitive devices which are used to monitor babies who may have breathing problems. They are expensive to buy, so if your baby is at risk, it may be worth asking your local hospital whether it lends or hires them out to parents. If you need to use one, it is essential that you know what to do should your baby stop breathing. There is some research showing that using a respiration monitor can actually increase parent's anxiety levels, so it's worth talking it through with your GP or health visitor before investing in one.
