Cot beds
These are bigger cots which turn into small first beds for a toddler by removing the sides. Their advantage is that they will have a longer life than most standard cots, but they do take up more space and can be a more expensive option. They may not have a drop-side mechanism when in cot mode, which means you have to lift up and put down your baby over the side of the cot.
