Pushchair Accessories
Whilst most pushchairs come with some accessories, it is important
to check what is included before you buy. There are many optional extras
that you can buy for your pushchair, but whilst these are often very useful,
they may add to the overall cost considerably.
Useful Accessories:
- Mattress: All carrycots need a mattress, liner and apron, plus
sheets and blankets for bedding
- Footmuffs and cosytoes: Pushchairs need cosytoes or footmuffs
for warmth and protection, and depending on the weather, an extra blanket
underneath
- Rain cover: Many designs of pushchair will have an integral
collapsible hood, but you will also need a rain cover that covers the
whole pushchair, to ensure your child is kept dry in bad weather
- Parasol: a parasol or sun canopy will be needed for added protection
on sunny days
- Zip-up cape: An alternative to a rain cover for a pushchair
is a zip-up cape that goes over the pushchair, with a hood in the middle
to keep your child's head dry. These are ideal for travelling as they
do not take up much space when they are not in use
- Shopping baskets: clip-on nets or shopping baskets are available
for some pushchairs, enabling you to carry a small amount of shopping
- Changing bag: For a co-ordinated look, many pushchair manufacturers
make a nappy changing bag that matches their fabrics
- Toys: There are many toys available for babies and young children
designed to fit onto a pushchair. These may help prevent your baby from
getting bored and restless in the pushchair
