Click here to find out more! Welcome to babyworld news January 2005
Happy New Year to you! Here's hoping you had a great holiday and you're looking forward to a fantastic 2005. If you're anything like us, you'll have made New Year resolutions left, right and centre, probably about eating less, exercising more, being a better parent and a worse Eastenders addict. Our new year resolution to you is to celebrate how great mothers are. Our New Mum survey was a real eye-opener for us about how babyworld members see themselves. From your emotional and physical well-being to your existence in the workplace - your feedback showed some fascinating results! Being a mum is one of the hardest jobs we do but, as the vast majority of you agree, it is not necessarily recognised as such by society. Author and mum Kate Konopicky exposes how her life as she knew it was turned upside down when she had her daughter - read A woman of no importance and be prepared to laugh in recognition of some of her anecdotes. Finally, one thing we all agree on is that 'me' time is essential when you're a mum - but that it's difficult finding a spare half hour or two! We have some suggestions on how to pamper yourself, from laughing in recognition over the latest mum lit novels to the best spas for mums-to-be - there's something for everyone. Just make sure that 2005 is about joy not guilt. Enjoy!

Happy New Year to you from the babyworld shop team
Thanks to all of you who shopped online with us last year and especially for your comments and testimonials on our service. Even over the Christmas rush we still achieved our delivery targets, with over 99% of all orders delivered within 3 working days (and most much faster than that). For the New Year we're introducing the range of Medela breastfeeding products, the 2005 range of Maclaren pushchairs and the funky LittleLife travel cots, toddler daysacks and parachute playmat. As a direct result of its perfect 20/20 in our recent Product Test we've also added the BT Baby Monitor PLUS, perhaps the best monitor that money can buy. For January, we've reduced the price of all of our safety gates by 10%, there are some stunning clearance bargains and don't forget that registered babyworld members can get a further 5% off the price marked. Actually, we're slightly surprised at how few of our shoppers take advantage of this additional saving - so, here's how you get it!

Lose your baby belly fast
Is your post-baby belly too much of a handful? Celebrities can spring back into an enviable shape after having a baby, so why can't you? Deborah Mackin's exercise plan shows that no matter how bad things look right now, your abdominals are never a lost cause! Follow her regime and you can have the taut tummy of your dreams.

So spa, so good
It's a tough job but someone has to do it ....we sent 6 mums-to-be, some spa virgins some not, to try out antenatal treatments. Discover which spas provide the best experiences for expectant mums looking to revitalise mind, body and soul before parenthood kicks in.

The naming game
If you're stuck for inspiration for an unusual name, browse our top celebrity choices of 2004. You never know, you may find a Gem(ma). But before you christen your child Banana Troy, remember that pupils at the schools where most of us can afford to send our children might not find your choice so enchanting...

Diet another day
No, it's not the name of a James Bond dieting film, though that would be quite amusing! We know how you might be looking to find a way to lose some post-baby weight, so we've selected some of the most popular diets with babyworld members and given you a low-down on the pros and cons of each.

10 resolutions for a healthy new year
Everyone likes to start the New Year with resolutions but so often they last no longer than the mince pies! So, why not make some realistic resolutions that will have a lasting impact on your whole family's health - seeing the benefits for all of you might be just the incentive you need!

ON TEST - Organic baby foods
Ready-made baby foods are a convenience few mums can ignore for long but with growing numbers of us now super-concerned about exactly what goes into these foods, we turned the spotlight onto the organic ranges. They cost more but are they worth it? Our panel of mums and babies digested the traditional jars and dried powder forms as well as the newer frozen baby-foods. Find out which ones were finger-lickin' good!

Great days out for animal-loving tots
Brighten up January with a trip to one of these animal attractions. Save money on entry prices too when you buy Days Out magazine.

Communicating will be even easier...
...when you discover the changes we are about to make to our discussion forums in the babyworld community. This hugely popular area of babyworld is about to be re-launched but we need your input to make it perfect for your needs. So, come on give it a go and tell us what you think!
