BRYAN McFADDEN WINS CELEBRITY DAD OF THE YEAR
The 2003 Celebrity Dad of the Year Award has been won by Westlife singer and songwriter, Bryan McFadden.
The annual award scheme celebrates men who manage to balance a hectic public life with the demands of parenting. Bryan fought off strong competition from other celebrities, including Jamie Oliver, David Beckham, Tony Blair and Sir Bob Geldof, but won the title after gaining the highest score in a public vote.
Bryan and his wife, former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, have two children - one-and-a-half year old Molly, and newborn Lilly Sue. He flew from a Westlife tour date in Manchester to collect his award at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
After hearing the news of his win, Bryan said, "I'm really pleased to win the title. Juggling a hectic work schedule with two young kids can be a challenging experience, but I absolutely love it and couldn't do it without the support of my lovely wife Kerry. It's really touching to have beaten Tony Blair, David Beckham and Bob Geldof, who are all great fathers."
He added that he'll be making a donation to the charity Children At Risk in Ireland.
