Film festival invites parents to bring a baby
The Bird's Eye View Film Festival is inviting parents to
bring their children for some family fun at the Apollo theatre in London's
West End.
Opened by leading British actress Fiona Shaw and supported
by Patron Joanna Lumley, the Festival presents some of the most inspiring
and innovative short and feature films from women across the globe.
On Friday 2nd June, Mums and Dads are invited to bring their
babies to the screenings aimed at parents who are otherwise missing out
on London's cultural smorgasbord. Starting at 11am and lasting for just
under an hour, the screenings will allow parents of very young babies
to watch a programme of short films while the babies feed, cry or snooze
as they like.
The films vary in genre and style and include a black comedy,
animations and a true story told in pictures made in sand.
Then on Saturday 3rd June, the Festival will run a Kids'
Screening which will be entertaining and educational for children as well
as adults.
The programme of fun films includes animations and drama
and touches on a whole range of subjects from asylum seekers to men with
big noses.
The films are short enough to suit kids' attention spans
and the diversity of styles will keep the whole family entertained.
Celebrity Mum Sally Phillips, who starred in Smack the Pony
and Green Wing says, "Birds Eye View puts Mums' fingers back on that
pulse! Brilliant films - I love it."
The Bird's Eye View Film Festival is a registered charity
supported in part by London Films and the UK Lottery.
