GABY ROSLIN TAKES NEW BABY HOME
TV presenter Gaby Roslin has given the public its first glimpse of her new baby
upon leaving hospital and heading home.
Baby Libbi-Jack, the first child of Gaby and her music writer and producer husband Colin Peel, was born at the exclusive Portland Hospital in London last week. She weighed in at six pounds one ounce.
The couple said they were delighted about the arrival of their daughter. "She looks just like her dad - with strawberry blonde hair. We're absolutely thrilled. Exhausted, but very, very happy,"
Gaby said.
Their baby's name holds special significance to the couple, as it was chosen in remembrance of Roslin's mum Jackie, who sadly died of cancer in 1996.
"They chose the name because they liked Libbi but they wanted to call her after Gaby's mother Jackie," a spokesperson explained. "They thought the names went well together and said Libbi-Jack can always choose which one she prefers when she gets a bit older."
Roslin is well known for her bright and friendly persona when presenting shows on both Channel 4 and the BBC. She used to host
The Big Breakfast with Chris Evans, has fronted the annual Children in Need charity event, worked on
Watchdog Healthcheck and is sole presenter of the Saturday evening show
Whatever You Want.
