Queen favourite for Mum of the Year

The Queen has made the last twenty in the shortlist for the Quality Street celebrity Mum of the Year and is expected to win the title.

Despite her recent refusal to attend her son's wedding, the Queen has received a rush of votes because of the ups and downs she has had with her children.

Also shortlisted are former Atomic Kitten singer kerry Katona and third-time new mum Victoria Beckham.

A spokeswoman for the annual title said “The big surprise is that for the first time in the competition’s history, the general public is voting for the Queen.

“The Queen, it seems, is winning over supporters for successfully dealing with all the trials and tribulations that having children entails, while continuing to manage her busy life.

“She is one of the top four contenders for the title.”

Louise Redknapp is another contender after giving birth to her first baby last October, having battled endometriosis for years.

Another famous mum with fertility problems is Jools Oliver, wife of TV chef Jamie.

The winner will be presented with the Quality Street Celebrity Mum of the Year Award after voting closes on March 1st.
