Happea faces
to raise money for prem babiesCelebrity mums and the simple pea
are coming together to raise money for Tommy's the baby charity. Carol Smillie,
Jane Horrocks and Darcey Bussell are just some of the Celebrity Yummy Mummy's
who have helped to celebrate the pea by drawing a 'Happea' face onto a specially-designed
round green disc which will be displayed in a virtual exhibition at Happea
Faces from 21 April 2008. The discs will be auctioned for ten days
on ebay in aid of Tommy's, the baby charity. Jane Brewin, Chief Executive
of Tommy's, the baby charity, comments, "Peas are a fantastic source of folic
acid, which is vital for women during pregnancy, as it aids the development of
a baby's red blood cells and also significantly reduces the likelihood of being
born with spina bifida and other defects of the neural tube." Yes Peas!
is an award-winning national campaign for the frozen pea industry, backed by growers
and freezers. Tim Mudge who co-ordinates the Yes Peas! campaign says, "We
are delighted to be supporting Tommy's in this way, it's a first-class cause,
and we are proud to be associated with it." Carol Smillie adds, "I am delighted
to have taken part in the Happea Faces Campaign in support of Tommy's." For
