Baby Lucy Croston, age six months, was sleeping in the buggy, which has an oxygen cylinder attached to help her breathe.

Mum Karen was ordered to take Lucy and her two other children off the nearly empty bus because she could not fold up the buggy due to all the pipes from the oxygen cylinder.

The news comes only two weeks after a woman with a seven month old baby was thrown off a Cambridgeshire bus miles from home because her child was crying.

Karen told the Daily Telegraph: "Whenever I go anywhere I have to lug Lucy’s oxygen bottle around and it’s always very awkward and heavy. The driver was quite nasty and very rude. The four other passengers were furious about his attitude but he didn’t care and drove away."

The family had been trying to travel to hospital for an appointment for Lucy, who has slight brain damage and breathing difficulties.

Karen said she had used the bus quite often and never been refused access because of the buggy before.

The local transport company has promised to investigate the complaint.
