Debbie
Bird wins Home Worker Award
Buckinghamshire Woman Highly Commended in The Home Worker Award
Debbie Bird from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire was highly commended in
The Home Worker Award at a prestigious ceremony to celebrate the Remote
Worker Awards at the spectacular Cliveden House in Berkshire.
During the presentations of the other eight categories in The Remote
Worker Awards, in association with BT Business, Debbie waited to hear
the announcement of the unique The Home Worker Award. Debbie has worked
in the parenting and nursery industry for over five years now editing
parenting advice websites.
As the current Editor of Babyworld.co.uk her position has enabled her
an insight into how many new parents, especially women, manage the life
changing event of starting a family. As the Editor, Debbie has been in
a privileged position to provide advice and support to new parents and
aims to provide an informative website and forum for members to chat and
share with each other their ideas about working from home, how they can
balance family life with a career and the positive and sometimes negative
benefits of working from home, part time or full time.
Debbie has managed to find the perfect position for her, as working from
home allows her to raise her two children and be a part of their daily
routine and maintain her career. She said: "I am so excited to have won
this award. It's a fabulous recognition that illustrates how you can manage
to work from home successfully. My children have been incredibly supportive
and understanding when I am working and my colleagues at Babyworld have
also kept in touch with me, as communication is very important when you
are working remotely, so that every day events in the office are shared,
ensuring although remote that you are still a crucial part of the team."
Award winning website, Remote Employment, Google's No 1 job site for
flexible and home based jobs, launched The Remote Worker Awards in association
with BT Business to highlight how home working and remote working benefits
the British public and their working life.
