Lapland UK - RudolfLapland UK Review

We set off to Lapland UK and the children were very excited about meeting Santa.

They had received a personal invitation fron Santa, inviting them to come along to see him, the reindeer, Mother Christmas, the Huskie dogs, and Elves. The day started out very wet, with what I call big rain. As Lapland is outside we would definitely recommend good walking books, an umbrella and of course lots of warm layers.

Lapland UK - Toy making

On arrivingl we had a hot chocolate and muffin to keep us going until lunchtime. We set off to the entrance and after walking down a wooded path we found the tippee entrance.

We were warmly greeted by the Elves and all learnt their signature hello!.

We sang our way through the wooded area and were able to open the gate leading into Lapland.

The door opened to reveal a beautiful, sparkly white scene. Our group were the Huskies and we were invited to help the Elves make some Christmas toys. The children built rocking horse heads, sang songs and were very pleased with themselves when they finished their toy. The parents were able to sit comfortably and watch the children enjoy being a part of the present making.

Lapland UK - Mother ChristmasOnce the toys were finished we set off to meet Mother Christmas and ice Ginger Bread biscuits. On the way we met some Huskies who were great with the children and very soft to stroke. Mother Christmas invited children through a tiny door that only little helpers could go through. Inside was a beautiful big kitchen, warm, cosy and inviting. All the Elves were rather cheeky but very friendly. After a lovely story the children were allowed to ice their Ginger Bread biscuit, with some encouragement not to eat all the sweeties.

The time arrived for our allocated lunch time slot, so we were escorted to a very inviting restaurant to eat our 2 course lunch. The food selection was very good, the display was appealing and the children particularly loved being able to choose their own food. My son in his usual enormous appetite style asked for 2 chocolate puddings! but didn't get 2.

After lunch we visited the Post Office, followed by a lovely steaming hot drink. We stood and watched the ice skating, while waiting with great excitement to see Santa.

In the waiting area the children were very excited. Their names were called by the Elf and we where led off into the forest which was heavily covered in snow. It was starting to get dark and the forest was lit up, and with the fading light it was very spectacular. Meeting Santa was no doubt the most exciting part of the day for the children. They were a little nervous to begin with, and when he got his Book of Good Children out and struggled to find their names their little faces seemed very disappointed. Then he got his Very Good Children book out and found them, the smiles returned bigger than before and they just beamed with delight. Lapland UK - Ice skating
They were asked lots of questions about themselves and given the most adorable and soft Huskie dog toy. They are now named Coffee and Snowy. They are a permanent attachment to the children at bed time!
Lapland UK - Forest After seeing Santa we visited the gift shop which had a wonderful selection of gifts and decorations. The children were not particularly keen to hang around in the shop as they had their sites on the skating rink. The Elves were wonderful helping the younger and older (Daddy!) children get around the rink.
The atmosphere was very festive and I particularly liked the little penquin supports for the younger children. I stood watching the children and their Dad skate while enjoying a very welcomed glass of mulled wine and mince pie with my Mum and Dad.
The day ended with visiting the reindeer in the forest and a lovely story telling session in the tippee. The forest was absolutely delightful as we headed home through the woods, and we all said what a truly wonderful day we had spent together.

It is the best place I have ever been to see Santa and the children truly adored every single second.

Although this is not the cheapest of options, I would say that it is worth the money for the children particpating in all the activities, but perhaps a concessionary rate for grandparents or very young children could be considered.
