Set among pine trees near Studland village, Knoll House stands in about 100 acres above the sandy beach and enjoys magnificent views over the bay to the cliffs and across to the Isle of Wight.

The hotel makes a point of not catering for conferences and not having a public bar, but of making all its guests, especially families, as welcome as possible.

It doesn't allow children under five in the main restaurant but has a separate family restaurant and offers excellent facilities for children. The average guest to staff ratio is two to one, which gives a high standard of friendly and cheerful service, with supervision provided in the nursery playroom between one and two pm.
