Nestling in the Looe River Valley in South East Cornwall, Polraen is an 18th century
fully licensed country house extending to guests of all ages, the warm hospitality and
many of the services of a small privately owned hotel, with quality ensuite accommodation
and AA commended evening dining.
Accommodation
Double, Twin and Family rooms are available. All have en-suite, and are tastefully
refurbished to feature contemporary comforts, including new shower or bathroom, thermostatically controlled
radiators, remote control colour TV, hair dryers and beverage-making facilities.
In addition to each room’s en-suite facilities, an additional common bathroom is
available for guests' general use. For the comfort of fellow guests, smoking is not
permitted in the bedrooms but is currently allowed in the bar and on the terrace.
Facilities
Guest Lounge & Bar with selection of books, magazines, and videos, as
well as more family-oriented pursuits with board games and contents from
the toy box. A large garden provides enough space for children to play
without getting in each others way. There is onsite parking to avoid problems
for the less mobile families, as well as good local bus services.
For Children
Polraen welcomes children of any age with a range of facilities including
Early Bird Children's Teas, high chair, travel cot, bed guard, baby listening
monitors, baby bath, milk bottles warmed, microwaves available for family
rooms, children's videos, and toys. The owners are aware of many different
places of interest in the local area, so ask them to find what you're
looking for. They also have a list of things
to do on their website, which include the likes of Porfell Animal
Land, Plymouth's National Marine Aquarium, an adventure park and an outdoor
museum to transport you back to the Victorian times, including Victorian
clothes, games and seeing the blacksmiths at work!
Price band
Prices for a Family Room for 1 night, including full English Breakfast
range from £75 to £95 depending on season. Dining can be included
for an extra £16 per head for a 3 course meal, or a main course
from £8.95. Vegetarian option available, as well as children's meal.
