More sturdy than the Bumbo

Test length: 1 week
Parent Panel review by Lorraine - review date 12 July 2008
This chair is very sturdy and has a high back so my son couldn't escape by arching his back. I found it a bit of a squeeze to get the tray on when he was sitting in it and I wasn't convinced it would last until 18 months (he is 8 months), but my 2 year old was happy to demonstrate that he could fit in it fine too! Neither of them could escape from it with the tray in place. They could lift it very slightly at the front but couldn't tip it as their legs are secured at the wrong angle to get a good push off. It wipes clean very easily and is tougher than it looks. It is a little fiddly to get the tray secured on past clothing. I found it good for feeding but my lively son wouldn't sit in it at any other time as he likes to be active. I think it is a good product but I'm not sure why you would need one if you already have a highchair.

Best Feature: Safe and easy to clean
Worst Feature: A bit of a faff to secure the tray
Verdict: Good quality product, but not essential

"Brilliant product!!"
I bought one of these after reading the reviews on here. I didn't really want a bumbo as I'd tried it and it wasn't supportive enough for my son's back at 3 months old. The cushi tush is brilliant. Yes it is only made of polystyrene, but this means that it is so light, you can just chuck it into the car if you're going away. My little boy loves sitting in it and we put some toys on the table and he happily sits and plays. He's pretty big for his age and has no trouble fitting into it. It's also been really useful for the start of weaning before we got a high chair.

"Lightweight and useful"
I found the Cushi Tush to be very useful for my 12 month old son. It can be used when out and about, or even at home, in place of a highchair. It is so lightweight that it can be taken anywhere with no fuss. It is also really easy to clean as there are no nooks and crannies for food to get stuck in.

When I first got it I didn't think it would last as it feels so light, but my son has bitten it and thrown it around and there is not a mark on it! My 3 year old daughter can even sit in it to do colouring!

The downside is that my son can pull the tray off when he is sat in it. This is especially annoying if he is eating in it as the food just tips off and goes all over the floor. I also find it quite difficult to put the tray in place as he wears real nappies, which makes his bottom quite fat! If the space between the legs on the Cushi Tush was a bit wider then it would be much better and easier to secure.

I really like this seat, but would find it much more useful if the tray could be secured in place more firmly.

"Turning into a must have product."
Cushi Tush is a chair for babies from 3 months who can support their own head. We got ours when our daugther was 8 months old, but wished we got it sooner. It is turning into a must have !

It is stylish, practical, is easy to clean and use with no fiddly straps or catches. It is also so light that even our 4 1/2 year old can carry it. Cush Tush is very sturdy with a an essential tray, and a price tag which is very competitive.

As a Mum of three I have found Cushi Tush extremely useful around the home and for our daugther to sit in whilst our sons are participating in after school activities. It has proved essential on wet changing room floors of the swimming pool, and for picnicing. Our daugther has always found it very comfortable to sit in where ever she is.

The chair always attracts admirers especially from Mums with older children who wished this was available when their children were babies.
