"i dont understand"
can any1 help me. i have just bought these bottles because of the fab reviews, however the teat cover has 3 holes in it. I am left slightly confused because that means the teat will not remain sterile once it is out of the steriliser? Can you buy other teat lids from anywhere that do not have the holes in?

I Strongly advise you do not buy these bottles, as lot of reviews states, fiddly and tricky, my wife and i find at feeding time and making bottles it leaks like mad, loosing from 1 - 2 oz of baby milk and you know milk aint cheap, complete waste of money also same problem with tommy teepee ones

"Twin Mummy review"
I only bought these as my SIL gave me her 6 and told me they were good. I am the proud owner of 18 bottles, 2 sterilisers, 1 mixer jug and 1 dishwasher basket. Can say that the latter 2 are a waste of money for me - I forget how many scoops of powder I put in 1 bottle let alone mixing up 6-10 at a time!
My girls (1 good, 1 not so good feeder) burp twice on these bottles within 3 mins of bottle removal and have only twice had trapped wind or colic - what can I say, they're fab. It is however very annoying that they don't fit other branded sterilisers, etc

"Better than tommee tippee"
our daughter is currently 7 wks & suffers from reflux (takes infant gaviscon) and we were using tommee tippee bottles until someone bought us a set of dr browns to help with her wind/colic & reflux and i admit i do prefer the dr brown bottles as she is rarely sick after feeding from them AND she hardly gets any wind after feeding (we hardly need to burp her!) it is a VERY noticeable difference, espec. since we use them alongside our set of tommee tippee bottles. Dr browns are great as she now hardly cries/suffers from colic in the evenings when using dr. browns. I wouldnt get rid of my tommee tippee bottles and will keep them should we have another baby, but from now on any new bottles i buy will be dr. browns. What i will say is that the writing/measurements on dr browns are really small and hard to read, whilst tommee tippee now prints new design bottles with the measurements much clearer in dark ink- the old design was hard to see like the dr browns, not ideal if you are handling boiled water! also because dr brown bottles are typical slim bottle shape, they fit in her changing bag for days out better than tommee tippee which are really wide!

"V. Good (but only if you are strong!)"
At first we used the standard Mothercare bottles for additional top-up feeding. They were awful, and after witnessing a ‘Victor Meldrew’ explosion from my husband at 2am in the morning when ‘that’ bottle leaked everywhere, I knew it was time to look for a better quality item!
The Dr Brown bottles have the following qualities, and this is largely why we gave them a good review –
· The lids actually screw down properly and DONT leak
· The bottle is comfortable to hold
· The quality of the different parts is great
· The volume markings are easy to read
· There anti-colic so less burping required!
However my partner and I have a few reservations which prevents top marks –
· The lids for the bottles, albeit well made, latch on ferociously to the main part of the bottle so unless you have a strong hands you are going to struggle to get them off!
· The extra ‘bits’ of the bottle which make them anti-colic means that they are more of a ‘faff’ to wash and keep clean.
Overall, though these are will worth the money and feel as if they will last for ages.

"Best for colic"
Ed suffered dreadfully from colic so after suffering his screams constantly in the late afternoons and evenings I finally bit the bullet and bought a twin-pack. I was so impressed that I went back and bought a couple more the next day. I find four is enough, and the maximum which fit into my Tommy Tippee cold-water/microwave steriliser. Yes, they are a little fiddly to put together in the middle of the night, but given a choice between fiddly bottles and a screaming baby, the choice is clearly the bottles. They do require a little more handling when putting them together but assuming you have washed your hands using an antibacterial handwash before starting, I think the risk is minimal. I have just switched up to a stage 2 teat (there are 4 'normal' teats and a special, 'Y' shaped teat for thickened liquids) and expect these to see me through until Eddie leaves off bottles altogether.
The small bottle brush wears quite quickly but these can be purchased online at a very reasonable price so it is not really a problem to replace them.

"doesn't live up to the hype"
niamh has bad colic but the dr brown's bottles didn't help at all. she hated them. I found the teats quite small and she was getting frustrated at not getting a full mouthful of teat. The bottles are very fiddly to put together and like I said, made no difference. Niamh much prefers tommee tippee.

"Dr Brown Bottles"
I had been using Avent bottles to feed my daughter, but my daughter was increasingly difficult to settle at night after feeding. She just would not sleep. I changed to Dr Brown bottles as a last resort. It really worked and helped her colic. Even my husband, who was very sceptical, now swears by them. There are many parts to the bottle which take a little longer to clean and assemble. This is a small price to pay for having a happy and settled baby!

"fine but lots of 'bits'"
Conor fed fine from this bottle but as he does not have much wind I don't know if it was any more effective than other bottles. The downside for me was the cleaning and assembling. Although there is a brush included with the bottle I just did not feel the valve was compensation for the fiddling.

"Always trust the Doctor"
Lucas fed well from this bottle and it did seem to reduce his vomiting slightly and the amount of wind he had.
The bottle was fiddly to put together and clean but it fitted easily into my steriliser and it came with a handy brush for cleaning all the internal parts. I thought it was very reasonably priced and I would use this bottle again.

"Good Product"
I liked the reasonably priced Dr Brown's bottle. Ethan fed well from it and his vomiting was reduced.
The bottle was reasonably easy to clean, thanks to the handy little brush that is provided with it and fitted easily in to my steriliser.

"Good but a little tricky"
Dr Browns bottles are dfficult to keep sterile as the value has to be removed to fill.
Isabel took to this bottle straight away which is unusual as I have been finding it really difficult for her to take a bottle. You can purchase at least 5 types of different flow teats.
These bottles are dishwasher safe.
They are priced in the middles of the range.

"Doctor knows best!"
This was by far our favourite bottle! Joshua fed very well from it, with a nice soft teat and internal vacuum, its a great design. We used this bottle primarily for the dream feed and Joshua seemed to bring his wind up without any assistance which was great! It really does work!
The only downside is that it has several parts to the vacuum and is slightly fiddly, and you have no choice but to handle the parts to assemble it. Holding 9oz its also quite large and didnt fit upright in the sterilizer.
I consider it be be great value at £5.49!

"Not my favorite bottle"
I wasnt the biggest fan of this bottle. Theo isnt a very windy baby so I dont know whether colic was reduced or not.
Im sure the internal valve is a good idear but at 3 in the morning when your half asleep trying to assemble the bottle im not so sure!
Also I found when I took the lid off milk spurted out covering Theo and myself.
They needed to be handled alot after being sterelised puting the valve together so they were less sterile, but after all the downsides Theo did feed quite well from them but they wouldnt be my first choice.

"Good but fiddley!"
The Dr Brown bottles deliver what they promise. They definitely improved Alfie's digestion and reduced his vomiting between feeds. He also seemed happy with the teat and took his milk well from it.
Whilst this product, on the whole, is very good I did find that it had several components and the valve which runs through the middle of the bottle is fiddly to clean (although you are provided with a cleaner for it which is good). It does however, fit into my microwave steriliser and the standard size (9oz) will mean the bottle will grow with your baby's appetite.
Pricewise it compares favourably with other leading brands. All in all a satisfactory bottle but not one I would use again due to the time involved in cleaning and assembling it.
