Number of reviews: 1 Overall score: Book by Imogen Edwardes-Jones Available from Amazon.co.uk, price £5.99 Great for anyone on the Infertility pathParent Panel review by Carole - review date 17 July 2007What it's all about A blow-by-blow account of the author's journey of trying to conceive. It gives an overview of the different tests and fertility treatments available and highlights the obligatory emotional and physical roller coaster that anyone suffering from infertility is firmly strapped to. On obtaining the elusive BFP, Imogen also describes how the worries and heartache don't stop the moment you get those 2 blue lines. Presentation Very easy to read and almost written like a reference book. Tone and target audience Tone was very simple and factual. Target audience would be anyone suffering from infertility and for their friends and family to enable a better understanding of their journey The good points Research wasn't needed for this book as the author was writing about her own experiences. It was therefore almost a reference book, from the horses mouth, for anyone suffering from infertility at any stage and written in simple terms, therefore making it easier to understand and perhaps less daunting than some factual books available today. It is an open and honest account of the difficult journey to motherhood, faced by many couples in today's society. The bad points She tried too hard to add humour to the book, and in my opinion it didn't really work and was a bit forced . I found myself waiting for the "boom boom" at the end of the sentence. Also, like every other "infertility" story, this ends in a pregnancy... which although very positive for the author, could potentially add to the isolation and frustration of the reader. Also needed to be padded out with a bit more story... was very much ttc and treatment orientated and I felt that I didn't really get to know the "characters" on any other level. With her husband only being referred to as "Less Attractive" it was thus very difficult to warm to them as real people.
