Perfect for a family of four with bags and bags of room

Test length: 1 week

I was lucky enough to be asked to test this wonderful Saab. I was looking forward to it’s arrival and I certainly wasn’t disappointed! This car has a high price tag as compared to other makes but the quality, luxury and safety features of this car make it worth every single penny. There is also plenty in this car for the mum (or dad) who love gadgets and hi-tech luxury. It would definitely suit a family of four with plenty of room, but fitting three children with booster cushions and car seats in the rear would be a bit of a squeeze. Would I buy one? Most definitely yes!
Family friendly features we liked included:
  • Isofix fittings on both outside rear seats.
  • I used my car seat (Maxi Cosi Priori XP) and it fitted securely.
  • Loads of room in the boot, easily take a twin buggy or a travel system. Cargo nets supplied to stop your shopping from rolling around.
  • Beautiful to drive with six gears and cruise control.
  • I’ve never seen such a wonderful Sat-nav and entertainment system. Took me a little while to learn how to use it but once I knew it was brilliant.
  • Climate control meant I could keep the car at a temperature to suit us.
  • Lots of leg room at the front and extremely comfortable seats, complete with seat warming!
  • Wipe clean, wonderful smelling leather upholstery!
  • Parking senors helped me with my reversing into parking spaces – goodness knows I need it!
  • Don’t forget those cup holders, they were dotted all over the place!

Little niggles:
  • I’d like to have seen integral sunblinds recessed into the door panels in the rear that you can pull up and hook on to make this car extra-family friendly.
  • A switch to turn the passenger seat air-bag off would’ve been good for those who like to have their baby rear-facing next to them in the front.
  • My baby’s feet did reach the seat in front even with it pulled forward so it would be best to get some kind of back of seat protection to prevent scuffing.

Best Feature: Integral sat-nav and entertainment system
Worst Feature: No sunblinds in the rear
Verdict: Perfect for a family of four with bags and bags of room, if you can stretch to the price tag.
