Product ReviewsBaby Proofing your Marriage
Number of reviews: 2 Overall score: Humorous + informative book about parenthood Available from www.amazon.co.uk, price £6.59 An excellent and innovative read that truly inspires youParent Panel review by Linda - review date 30 January 2007Author: Stacie Cockrell, Cathy O'Neill & Julia Stone Publisher: Collins Whats it all about? A satirical take on parenthood and the true effect it can have on the parent's relationship. Covering everything from the sub-conscious score keeping to sex, even coping with the dreaded out-laws! The author's of this book go into some detail (all of which painstakingly learned the hard way) about how children can shake your marriage right to it's very foundation's. The real beauty of this book is the practical advice offered ~ real little nuggets of gold ~ Strategies that will help even the most beleaguered of parents stumble through the maze of parenthood and emerge the otherside still holding hands. Tone and Target Audience: Whilst there were undoubtably some parts of the book that were very much aimed at first timers, there were also plenty of excellent advice for those of us haggard and worn down by our little darlings and looking to apply a little rescue remedy to our marriage! Good points: Each chapter of this book is broken down into easy to read sections. First the funny anecdotes, that every parent reading will identify with. Then next the funny and often witty, yet also very effective solutions for baby-proofing your relationship. Bad points: This book was a unique breathe of fresh air. I could find no fault with working at your marriage to ensure a happy family life ~ which this book promotes :0)
