Must have baby seat

Test length: Bought the product
Parent Panel review by jayne - review date 5 June 2006
I bought this car seat because I was a bit concerned about most of the seats that are available today. Ive noticed that most seats are very small and don't seem to give your baby the comfort or space that they need.

There are two types of Aprica car seats, one is designed for premature babies and is equipped with extra ventilation on the side panels. This is a great idea but we didn't opt for this as our baby was two weeks over. Our Aprica model is a shear delight, it is so easy to put into your car and it has the added benefit of facing the door where it is so much easier to put your child in or out, then as your child grows, the seat rotates to the rear facing, and when your child reaches the stage where they can face forward facing, you don't even have to remove the seat as the swivel seat does all that for you.

I highly recomend this seat. It may be quite expensive but how much does it cost for your childs saftey? Ive paid more for my car seat than I did for my pram but I consider it a great investment that provides comfort for baby and peace of mind for me.

Best Feature: the swivel seat
Worst Feature: Its a bit heavy
Verdict: Highly recomended

"The essential car seat"
Having looked at all the products out there, there really was only one option.

Firstly, safety was the most important feature we were looking for and the Aprica certainly offers this.

Just as important for our baby was comfort and correct posture. Laying flat for those first few months of life before our baby is able to sit using her own muscles to support her, was a very key feature. My husband is a chiropractor and was keen to find something that offered this because there are so many products out there that seem to promote a rather 'banana' shaped baby spine.

The cost may seem to be quite high, but when you consider that it will be the only seat needed for up to the age of 4 and the way it has been designed to adapt for this and its safety and comfort, it seems like a great investment.

It's so important not to let young babies spend time in seats that allow them to slump into a 'banana shape' - I've seen so many little babies being carried around in upright seats before they have the ability to hold themselves in this position, but I think people aren't given enough information to understand why this should be avoided.

I love the Aprica for its versatility, safety, and the lie-flat option it gives your newborn. It looks extremely comfortable too and I wish I could fit in it myself!
