Nice first tastes

Parent Panel review by Clare - review date 30 November 2007
I found this range to be quite versatile and enjoyable for both my children. The meals were easy to prepare and Joseph enjoyed trying new combinations. I would advise checking the heat as my microwave seemed to make them scorchingly hot and took quite a while thereafter to get to the right temperature. On the whole though, they are easy to use and prepare with some interesting textures and ingredients.

Best Feature: lots of interesting tastes
Worst Feature: cooling time
Verdict: Great for older babies trying new textures and tastes

A lovely range with lots of variety

Test length: 3 weeks
Parent Panel review by Paula - review date 30 November 2007
I thought the offering from Truuly Scrumptious was grand - lots of tastes and textures and plenty of variety for babies of all ages - from weaning through to toddler. I thought the stock was fantastic and ideal if you don't have time to make your own. Millie liked the soups and the sweetcorn chowder and salmon and broccoli pie seemed to agree with her. Make sure you leave plenty of time to cool. I found some of these meals took up to 20 minutes to get to the right temperature so do a good test first!

Best Feature: Good ingredients, unusual combos
Worst Feature: Take ages to cool
Verdict: A good all round range, my little girl certainly enjoyed it

A tasty range for tiny tums

Test length: 4 weeks

Texture: These were good for my 10 month old - soft without being too runny and easy to spoon into her mouth.

Appearance/Smell: The meals looked nice and came in these handy microwavable pots that you can store in the freezer. The majority smelt good apart from the vegetable gratin which amber seemed to dislike.

Ease of use/versatility: The pots are a good size and if you have a hungry baby, they're likely to eat the lot in one sitting. If you're feeling adventurous you can mix them with other ingredients like pasta, but they are definitely better on their own.

Taste: Both Amber and I liked the taste and she was particularly keen on the Winter veg and chicken and cottage pie dishes. Nothing was spat out with this range which is unusual for her.

Value for money:All of the meals look and taste very healthy, they're organic and GM/sugar/salt-free so you have pretty mcuh everything you want from a range. I would definitely recommend it.

Best Feature: The easy to use pots
Worst Feature: The sweetcorn chowder!
Verdict: A great range that babies will love

"truuuly scrumptious"
ease of use - fantastic, especially the stock!! I hate boiling chicken bones to make salt free stock so this was a big bonus. You can also defrost a portion then heat up half or heat all of it from frozen, depending on how much you need.

Taste - Emily loved them she isn't too keen on ready made food, this one tasted like home cooking.

Value for money - really good except the delivery charge for frozen food can be quite priecy. If I lived in south Emily would live on it.
