Playgym for young babies
Test length: 1.5 months

This is a very soft padded playgym in a nice bright red colour. It also comes with loads of toys which can be arranged at various points on the overhead arches. They are all brightly coloured and provide lots of stimulation for your baby.
We found this gym really easy to put up although the velcro on the arch did not work properly and had to be tied to keep it in place. It's quite a big gym so takes up more space than average - fine if you've got the space but not very travel-friendly.
It is a really comfortable playgym for younger babies because it is really well padded. It's difficult to keep the material plush though, especially if you have a baby who spits up quite a lot like mine!
It is expensive, but it does have plenty to keep a baby interested. Although it did not have any lights or music.
Best Feature: The plush, padded material
Worst Feature: Larger than your average playgym
Verdict: A good playgym with some stimulating toys

This product was colourful, bright and easy to set up. The toys suspended on the arches over the mat could be detached, so you could move them around or give them to the baby to play with. The toys themselves were brightly coloured and nicely designed. The mat was padded and comfortable for younger babies. My baby enjoyed playing with this playgym.
Best Feature: Brightly coloured and easy to use
Worst Feature: The material makes it difficult to clean
Verdict: good playgym

"Not the best"
I had this item as a gift from friends at work, but it hasn't really had much use. My DS was born 6 weeks early so he's quite a small baby for his age. At first he liked to sleep on the mat because the material is so soft - but the massive lump in the middle of the mat meant that as he grew he had to be half on and half off the mat!! The toys are all too high for him to reach, even at 6 and a half months old!! He managed to grab onto the middle toy when I pushed the bars down for him and then when I let go and the bars sprung back up the thread snapped and the toy came off!! There are some lights and sounds but he isn't able to activate them.
I wouldn't recommend this item as I think there are lots of other, better play mats out there. I have just bought a TAF Toys huge playmat which is fantastic!! I wish we'd had it from the start and just used a mobile overhead arch for him to play with. All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't pay out for this playmat as it was a gift!!

"Wish I could say it was worth the money..."
...but it just isn't. I bought this because I fell for all of the fancy features and the fact that it was a nice comfortable mat. Unfortunately I have found that my little girl hasn't had the use out of it at all as she couldn't reach the toys and didn't have the ability to activate the lights and sounds so got bored very quickly. Now that she's mobile there's no chance of her playing happily in it so it's defunct at 6 months - now what I'd call value for money. The other annoying thing is if you have a sicky baby (like mine) it's very hard to clean even if you do constantly keep it covered as best as you can.

"DO NOT BUY THIS"
Rubbish! Actually I keep meaning to write to Mamas and Paps and tell them how awful I think it is. My son is coming up to a year and is a bright boy but really has only recently got the strength and co-ordination to access all the lights and sounds. Nothing moves above the baby and unless you are one of the lucky few whose baby lies and gazes happily at virtually anything, they will get bored. My son has only started using it very recently as a mat in his bedroom but I have obviously had to take the arches off. I ended up buying a Baby Einstein one which he used constantly

"best gift yet"
My mam bought this for my little one and she loves it! I first put her on it at 2 weeks but wasn't too interested now at nearly 8 weeks she loves it! It's been updated and now has lights, music and phrases from Lotty herself aswell as all the crinkle and rattle toys. Plenty to keep her interest as she grows, the toys can be reoved for her to play with separately. As with the swing any spillages(!) are easy to clean if you do it straight away as I do - I keep a cloth handy at all times as my little angel likes to sick up when you least expect it!

"Bright and plush"
This is a soft, bright good quality padded playgym, surrounded by cringle pad and textured ladybird legs. The mat is super-soft and protective for a new born but would limit an older baby's movements. The arch is too high and isn't very easy to reach. It would be impossible to machine wash and the fabric doesn't take kindly to being wiped clean. It's also quite bulky and hard to store.
