A good solid travel cot.

Parent Panel review by Laura Johnson - review date 28 October 2005
Ease of Use/Construction and Fold: Easy to set up as it has the same mechanisms and action as most travel cots. You can get this set up in under two minutes, once you've fiddled around securing the mattress to the base.

Versatility: It can be used as a play pen as it has mesh sides so baby can see out.

Extras: The wheels make it easy to move around. It has a large 'toy' bag that is attached to the end of the cot, which would be handy for keeping things tidy when away. I know when we go away, the room always looks like a bomb has hit it within a minute of our arrival, so this is quite handy. You could use it to store nappies, clothes etc as well.

Comfort/Quality: Excellent quality although the mattress is a little on the thin/firm side. It has nicely padded top rails, which means you don't have to worry so much about toddlers banging their heads on them. The fabrics are easy to clean and the whole thing feels very solid.

Portability: The cot has wheels so you can move it around when folded up and when in use - it is quite heavy otherwise. It is the same size folded as most other travel cots and you would need a car with quite a bit of room available to transport this - but this does seem to be a problem with most travel cots of this type/mechanism.

Best Feature: Ease of use.
Worst Feature: Quite heavy to lift in and out of cars.
Verdict: Good value for money if you are looking for a basic travel cot with wheels.

"Essential!"
We have used this for our son approx once a month for the last 18 months and I could not be without it.

He is quite tall so the extra length you get with the Babydan ensures it will be comfy for him for a while to come. I don't plan to move him into a junior bed at home until he is around 30 months and I am quite sure this will cope until that time and beyond!

I did buy a couple of cheap foam mattress (one stays at grandparents house) because I don't like the thin pad that comes with it - but I think this is true of all travel cots not just a failure of the babydan.

The wheels make it very usable and it is sturdy when it is up.

Love it!
