Great Car Seat!!
Test length: 1 month
Parent Panel review by jayne

Ease of Use: This seat was very easy to use. Although it appears complicated at first glance, once you are used to the system it is quick to take in and out of the car, set up and put baby into. The instructions were easy to read, and I found that the company itself went out of it's way to help if there was any problem. The restraint was easy to adjust and baby felt really secure in the seat.
Portability:Once you have mastered the seat, it is incredibly easy to take in and out of the car. It is heavy - it comes in two parts, but not so heavy that one person alone could not carry it.
Fitting in the Car: I really liked that this seat sat very snugly in the car. You can use the belt tensioner to hold the base tightly into the vehicle. I was able to use the seat on a few types of car and found it easy and secure in different types of vehicle. It was easy to put baby in and take baby out of.
Comfort/Quality: My baby really liked this seat and seemed very comfortable in it. The seat is modern looking and the fabric is lovely. It is easy to remove to clean and also to wipe down. The seat has head support which you can adjust as baby grows. The seat is easy to recline - and reclines back quite far so that baby is really comfortable sleeping.
Additional Extras:The best feature about this seat is that it grows with your baby and you can use it in the rear or forward facing positions. This gives great value for money and is a great safety feature as you can keep baby in the rear facing position for up to 18 months.
Best Feature: Rear facing facility for babies up to 18 months
Worst Feature: A tad heavy to carry
Verdict: A quality, versatile and modern car seat

"Love this car seat"
I bought this car seat for my large baby boy and used it until he was 3 when I had my daughter, then used it for her from birth instead of an infant carrier (I did purchase the newborn insert to make it a bit more snug) its a fab car seat that has lasted two children, fits securely and means I can have my children rear facing for a long time. Easy to use once you get the hang of it - my only gripe would be it seems to have increased in price alot since i bought mine.

"A waste of time and money"
I bought this when my 2nd child was 4 months old and was initially pleased with the seat despite it being fiddly and heavy to install. The first problems I had were when I had to wash the seat. Putting the covers back on was an absolute nightmare! That aside we plodded along for a bit longer until we turned my daughter around to be front facing which is when the other problems started. The adjustable neckrest kept sliping down and obstructing the use of the harness and the covers didn't seem to fit properly esp when the headrest was extended! I had washed the covers carefully and following manufacturers instructions. So we had bits of velcro flapping around and some bare car seat exposed. I think this seat is a nice idea but doesnt work!

"Fantastic - Money well spent!"
I wish i had bought this car seat sooner its brilliant. I bought this seat as my son has already outgrown his 0 group car seat at 7 months old. Once the fiddly bit of fitting into the car its so secure and plus its looks good!

"Excellent Car Seat"
I bought this car seat as my Daughter was outgrowing her Infant carrier but was not big enough to go forward facing. I have been very impressed at how well it fits my car and how sturdy it is. My Daughter seems to love it and often falls asleep in it. It can be tricky to fit but once its in correct fits perfectly.

"good for bigger babies"
I am really pleased with this seat. I spent ages looking for a suitable seat for my second boy. At 5 months he already weighed 20lbs, 9kg and was really tall. The primo viaggio we had was too small, he looked too big for it at 4 months and his head would roll forward the minute he started dozing. I even borrowed a maxi cosi cabrio, as it looked like it reclined more, but the same problem happened when he fell asleep. The Ultimax has never had that problem, we've driven to cornwall and dorset, and his head did not roll forward at all, he looked very comfortable. I hate seeing babies with their heads flopping forwards. The seat, when in rear facing for babies is in a fixed position, but it is a good one, reclined enough to be comfortable and high enough to see his brother next to him. We also bought the cooly cover, which keeps the seat cool for him. the only downside is that you have to take the baby out of the seat when taking him out of the car, but that is a small price to pay for a plush comfortable seat. It fits really nicely in our car, a Golf, and looks good and solid.

"peace of mind!"
We bought this seat as our original car wouldn't fit the Britax 1st Class, and have found the Ultimax to be in no way second best! It IS very heavy and is certainly not something you want to be switching between cars, but the flip side of this is the great fitting you get in the car and the very 'solid' feel of it - I felt much more confident having daughter in this as a baby than the portable group 0 seats. Now that she's facing forward, the Ultimax is showing just how convenient it is to use - the front passenger can easily reach to the back (if the seat is behind the driver) and change the recline position. Cleaning is no problem as all the soft covers come off - though taking the top part off every month or so and having a vacuum is a good idea if you let your toddler eat in car! It seems very comfy (Shonagh can't tell us just yet) as we've been on several long trips without complaint (6 hours driving).

"overpriced and fiddly"
I am currently using the concorde ultimax and have to say that the seat itself looks really good but if you have a feel around where baby's head rests its really quite uncomfortable! Once fitted it is very secure and doesn't move at all. I also wasn't happy with having to unscrew panels and take the car seat apart to wash it.
