"The Rolls Royce of trikes"
I'm not sure who was more excited when the Smart Trike arrived, me or my daughter, neither of us were much help putting it together anyway, however, after approximately 45 minutes assembly time we were away.
I was impressed with the overall quality of the trike, it is extremely well made and feels very sturdy. I strapped Maddison (who is 14 months old) in with the well padded straps and she squealed with delight as we set off. The seat looked very comfortable and she kept her feet on the little footrests either side as her legs weren't quite long enough to reach the pedals. She could easily reach the handle bars and when she wasn't regally waving to all who passed she could hold on quite comfortably. As we live in the countryside we hit some quite rocky terrain but she carried on smiling so I guess it must have been a comfy ride. At times I found it a little tricky to keep the trike in a straight line and it is very sensitive to the slightest turn of the handle, however after several trips out I am now an expert at it! It tips very easily and safely up and down curbs and I felt very happy that Maddison wasn't going to tip out when I tipped it up.
The sun shade is an excellent idea, but I couldn't see Maddison when it was down so had to keep peering around it to check she was still smiling! It also blew up in the slightest wind.
The little bucket on the back is quite handy for carrying bits and pieces as is the bag that comes with it. Maddison was impressed with the little phone, which is attached to the trike and doesn't come off (much to Maddison's annoyance!) and the holder at the front is great for taking a drink along with you.
I love the idea that this trike will last until she is about 3 years old, although it costs a lot of money it will last a long time. I'm not too keen on the colour green but I think it does come in other colours. It is an excellent quality product with some brilliant features, it really is the Rolls Royce of trikes.

"Definitely one of the best trikes"
This trike comes flat packed with instructions on how to put together. These instructions are fairly clear and it didn't take very long to assemble ( a bit longer due to a very excited daughter getting in the way)
When it was put together we had it in the mode for younger children (with all the padding in). My daughter is 2.5 and still fitted in easily with all of that in and was more comfortable than if she had been on the plain plastic seat so I think that could be left in pretty much for the life of the trike.
We used it in the mode for 9 months upwards so we could use it for both of my younger children.
This way means that you keep the parent handle on rather than let them steer it themselves.
One thing that I found novel with this trike that others don't have is that the parent handle controls the steering as opposed to being there just to push it forward. However it is quite hard to push in a straight line as you find yourself overcompensating a little bit (the steering is very delicate and no big movements necessary). It is also difficult when you have a child who insists on trying to turn the steering at the same time. We found that to get around this we tipped it back slightly so that the front wheel was off the ground and it was then easier to push if you needed to move a bit quicker.
One good feature that we liked was that you could take the pedals out of commission so that they don't spin round really quickly when your childs feet are on them if they have it in the younger mode. For the really little ones there are footpegs to rest their feet on.
There is a handy bag that has several pockets on it which is excellent as it's big enough for a bottle, nappy, keys, phone and purse etc.
There is a bucket on the back so that your child can take a couple of their toys along with them.
There is a sun canopy that attaches to this trike which is an excellent idea especially if you are using a younger baby in it. However I don't think it would really be any good for a toddler as the height means their head would be on the canopy.
The parent handle height is adjustable which is handy if you and your partner are different heights.
The trike has a full harness to keep your child safely in the trike.
I used this trike to do the school run with my daughter in and managed to use it even with the baby in the sling which shows that it is pretty easy to push one handed and without much effort (it's fairly lightweight).
All in all I like this trike and my daughter certainly prefers to be strapped into it for the school run than she does her pushchair but I think it is quite overpriced for a childs trike. If it could be found on special offer though I think it is worth having.

"Fab,fab, fab"
This trike is really good and sturdy.
Although I am not too taken by the green colour (and there are other colours available) all of the features are fantastic. My favourite feature is that the handle can go down to the right height for my 3 year old to push his little brother round so I don't have to! I also love the small bag on the handle to put my valuables in.
