"a must have product"
I was put off using cloth nappies when I had my little girl due to the initial cost and having to buy different sizes as she grew. She also has quite bad exzema and I was a little reluctant to risk them irritating her skin further. I have to say though that I am a complete convert to these nappies: they are easy to use and clean, and they don't irritate her little bottom in any way. They haven't leaked during the day and at night I just put a doubler into the pocket, just to make sure. I also love the fact that they are fully adjustable and I will definately be stocking up for the next little arrival we have!

"Love these 21st century real nappies"
I’m not a gushy person when it comes to real nappies. I don’t even care what they are made of or what they look like as long as they do the job and are easy to clean and quick to dry. And these tick all the boxes and even look good and put my old terry towelling pre-folds and shaped nappies to shame.
The system is very easy – stuff the pocket with the microfibre inserts (two sizes suitable for newborn or normal and then both for night, heavy wetters or older children). The whole thing then does up with soft Velcro tabs like a disposable nappy. When wet/soiled the poo generally peels off in the loo and the whole thing goes into the wash. I tried them on my youngest who is almost one and 22lbs now. The nappy fitted perfectly on both the biggest and next size down (poppers to adjust size of nappy) and was very soft and snug around the legs without causing any irritation anywhere. She didn’t have any nappy rash during this time. In the spirit of a ‘full test’ my eldest almost three year old also modelled the nappy for an afternoon. Although she is completely toilet trained she was happy wearing it and at almost 2.5 stone a big girl but again the nappy just about fitted her meaning the ‘birth to potty’ claim would definitely be true for most children. I also thought the popper system worked well and the nappies would have looked fine on a new baby too.
The nappies were easy to wash although I probably would use a homemade fleece liner to stop poo staining the inside liner. The best thing about them was how quick drying they were. They dried overnight on an airer inside. They dried in a few hours on the line. Finally they dried soft. I could not claim any of those things for my cotton nappies which take ages to dry and need a spell in the tumble drier to maintain softness.
So basically I love these nappies. The pastel colours are cute. The price – well quite expensive but given how fast drying they are (no need for electricity in the tumble drier) I doubt you would need quite as many as I have in cotton. I would hope they have longevity (i.e. could be used for more than one child – my cotton are ready for number 3…) but that is impossible to measure on such a short test. Good product and worth a try.

"Great reusable nappies"
I've used reusable nappies with my son on and off since he was born but never tried bumGenius. I was a bit confused at first which way the inserts were supposed to go and if they had to be folded and I ended up calling a friend who I knew used them.
After that though they were great. They didn't leak, were easy to put on and washing and drying wasn't too bad either. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone thinking about getting a one size system. Cost wise, I know they save you money in the long run but I've always found reusables to be quite expensive initially but you could probably think about getting them from one of the second hand nappy websites which would make them even more environmentally friendly.
