"How refreshing to find a carrier that is so easy to use, comfortable and stylish at the same time."
EASE OF USE

The instructions were very clear – the pictures in the instruction leaflet made putting the sling on and getting my daughter into it really easy. My partner helped me put her in the first time (just because it was new to me), but I managed easily from then on.

As my daughter is now 7 ½ months old (and quite heavy at 21lbs) we were only able to use the side position –I soon found that the trick to ensuring she was sitting in properly is to make sure that she is sitting within the coloured panel.

The Lifft Sling was so much easier to use than any other front fastening sling that I have tried and very easy to manage for one person. It was much easier than the front sling I had when she was born (I found the clips fiddly to use) and another sling I had which was one you had to tie up (such a complicated and long winded process!).

VERSATILITY

We were only able to use the side lift position as my daughter is now 7 ½ months old. I wish I’d known about this product earlier, because I’d have loved to try out the front lift position. I think it’s a great sling because you are not able to use many of the front carriers with clip fastenings after 6 months – the Lifft Sling can be used from newborn to toddler.

I think that the way you use the sling with an older child is different to how you would use it with a newborn. I can imagine carrying a newborn round in the sling all day every day. However, when your child is older (and heavier!) it is something you use in a different way – perhaps to nip from the car into a shop or a friend’s house, to nip up to the village post office or corner shop, to give a toddler a lift when they are fed up with walking but won’t go in the buggy. I also think it’s a handy thing to have in a buggy basket. When I was travelling by train and there was no lift at the station I popped my daughter into the sling and pushed the buggy up and down the stairs. I also find it’s good now that my daughter is too heavy to lift out of the car in her car seat – I can just pop her in the sling.

From this point of view it’s great that the carrier is so compact – you can pop it in a bag or in the car and use it when needed.

COMFORT

My baby really loved being in the sling – it was lovely that I could talk to her as we walked along. She really liked being up in the sling in shops – she liked feeling part of the conversations I was having.

At first I didn’t have her sitting in the coloured panel properly so she slid down a bit, but as soon as I realised where she needed to sit she was very comfy.

I found it comfy to wear – no buckles to dig in etc. As explained above I wouldn’t find it comfortable to use for long periods with a large baby (I don’t think any sling would be) but it’s brilliant in all the ways detailed above. I think it would be very comfy for much longer periods of use with a smaller baby.

The manufacturer says how important it is that you buy the correct sized sling for you. The sling was a perfect fit for me. My partner also tried on the sling and this illustrated just how important it is to get a sling that fits correctly – it was impossible for him to carry our daughter in the sling as it was too tight. Therefore the manufacturer’s policy of changing slings that don’t fit is excellent.

QUALITY

The sling was made from high quality material and once I realised just where my daughter needed to sit she felt secure. It was great to be able to fold over the shoulder panel as this ensures a more snug fit – and shows a stylish block of colour.

EXTRAS

There are no extras/pockets etc, but this didn’t detract from the product. It leaves you with hands free to carry a bag. It’s simplicity is the best thing about it.

VALUE FOR MONEY

I would definitely recommend it to friends, I think it’s great that you only have to buy one sling to last you through from newborn to toddler.

The only disappointment is that it was a shame both myself and my partner couldn’t use it – due to the fact that we would require different sizes – perhaps the manufacturer could offer a discount if you were buying two?

GENERAL LIKES AND DISLIKES

I feel that the carrier is very stylish and I particularly like the fact that the green panel on the sling matches many of my clothes – I tend to wear a lot of green and earthy colours. It’s much more stylish than any of the other carriers I have used.

How refreshing to find a carrier that is so easy to use, comfortable and stylish at the same time.

"Brilliant sling - I love it."
With my first two boys I had a baby bjorn sling but it was uncomfortable and made my back hurt. When I had my daughter I bought a wrap sling and loved it. I have never used a pouch sling before and was dubious that I would like it as to me it just looked like the baby would fall out. Therefore I was surprised to discover I love this sling.

EASE OF USE - Unlike wrap slings which take some time to get used to putting on this sling was easy right from the first time as it only involved putting it over your head and putting baby in so this would be great even if you just wanted it for going to the school from the car or other short journeys.

VERSATILITY - There are many different positions you can use this sling in but I only used it for the newborn hold as my daughter doesn't seem impressed at going into a sling anymore.

COMFORT - I was I was surprised how comfortable this sling was. It didn't hurt my shoulders at all even leaning over to push the other pushchair. I always thought that pouch slings looked pretty insecure for holding the baby in but I discovered this not to be the case. He was very snuggly held in place and one bonus that the wrap sling doesn't have is that I can see him laying there and look at his gorgeous face (as well as showing him off to others which is harder to do in a traditional sling)

STYLE - This is a very trendy sling. I had the one with the emerald green panel which looked gorgeous with the black and I felt very proud wearing my baby in it.

VALUE FOR MONEY - I think it was pretty good value for money compared to other slings on the market as it will see you right through to when the baby is toddling everywhere.

All in all I would definitely recommend this sling to my friends and will be definitely using it more with my son.

"Stylish and Practical"
With my 1st baby I used a normal tomy carrier, but after a couple of months moved onto a fleece pouch sling. With my new baby I used the pouch sling again but it seemed like it had stretched a bit since using it for my firstborn. So I had been looking for a new sling for a while, but wasn't sure which one to get, when I was asked to test the Lifft sling the timing was perfect.

EASE OF USE - Very easy to put on. Takes only a few moments to get the baby in, with thorough instructions included which was a great help.

VERSATILITY - plenty of different holds. Front hold cradles the baby - perfect for a sleepy head, Little buddha (my son's favourite) - brilliant for seeing whats going on, and the side carry - looking forward to trying this soon with my son, but did try it out with my toddler, and it was fantastic. She loved the novelty of it, and she felt so much lighter carrying her in it. I also tried another hold, basically a reverse buddha as my son had fallen asleep and I wanted to support his head, and he slept for ages that way round.

COMFORT - I was impressed by the comfort from the moment I put the sling on, the main material is really strong and hugs your body nicely. There is a flexible panel where the baby sits so there is a good mix of comfort and strength. The baby panel is big enough to fully support the baby and has padded edges for added comfort.

On the first trip out wearing the sling I was quite dissapointed as I had a sore back and shoulder after only about 10 mins, but I had been pushing a buggy too so I was leaning forward. Next trip out was without the buggy and I was still sore, but after moving the sling onto the other shoulder there was a world of difference. The baby weight was well distributed and I felt myself walking taller. My son felt really light and I was happy to go for a long walk and wasn't suffering afterwards. The only downside is that a comfy baby doesn't want to come out of the sling!

ACCESSORIES - There are no pockets in the sling, but I have on trips to the shops put my purse inside the sling, a cuddly toy and a dummy! So really there is no need for pockets.

STYLE - Easily the most stylish sling I've seen. Looks great with smart clothes and casuals alike. It's great for adding a bit of style to the nursery run, and distracts eyes from the odd mix up outfit you've thrown on when running late!

Have had lots of comments from passers by, "Aww, look at the cute baby in the snazzy sling" being one of my favourites.

VALUE FOR MONEY - It is an expensive sling, and that may have put me off. However, it is very high quality - strong and well made. I imagine it will last for years. It has a designer label look and its much cheaper than a buggy or a trendy handbag!
