Teething aidsYour baby may experience a degree of discomfort when he’s teething, but this can be relieved by using teethers and teething gels. However, teething should not make him ill - if he seems unwell check with your doctor, as it’s easy to put it down to teething when in fact he may have a more serious condition, such as an ear infection. The discomfort of inflammation caused by milk teeth cutting through the gums can begin quite some time before the first little tip of white shows through. There are 20 milk teeth in a full set, and your baby could be nearly two years old before they are all through. Fortunately, they don’t all seem to be as painful as each other, and not all babies suffer problems from teething. There are several products available to help your baby cope.
