This month our parent panel have been busy testing some of the latest and most practical products for twins and multiples. Some are designed specifically for twins and multiples whilst others are simply innovative little inventions which our panel felt were a particularly good investment. Things to have two ofMost parents agree that there are some things that definitely need to be doubled. Bouncy seats are very handy as an extra set of hands, for feeding, playing and even sleeping. Plan to have at least one per baby. Having two high chairs make mealtimes more manageable. If you're planning to bathe your older babies or toddlers simultaneously, you'll definitely need more than one bath seat. Finally, there is one item that you absolutely must have two of: car seats. You won't get far - not even home from the hospital - unless each and every baby is properly restrained. It's one thing that they should never share. Review HighlightsParents of multiples will learn a few tricks from TAMBA's video Parenting with Multiples in Mind. Our tester Julie found that 'it highlighted the importance of treating multiples as individuals - a good quick fix and something you can refer to again if necessary'. Another hit was the Ergonomic Bath Seat. Designed to support babies in the bath, our tester loved 'having both hands free to wash each baby individually - it also relieves pressure from your back - a must-have for any new mum'. If you are thinking of investing in a breastpump, make sure you check out Emma's review of the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breastpump. Emma has been breastfeeding her 7 week old twins since birth and found the Medela pump offered 'an efficient way to express with a single or dual option and a choice of speeds to suit you'. Other feeding hits included the Podee Feeder which can help your babies to feed from a bottle independently. Our tester Ruth found it an 'ingenious little invention that offers a lot more freedom with feeding, despite taking a little while to get used to initially'. Of course, finding that essential mode of transport is one of the most difficult tasks in shopping for multiples. We've tested two very different models - the 'rather substantial and luxurious' Mothercare Alpine Urban Detour and the 'sleek, functional and simple' Maclaren Twin Traveller.
