This month's panel have spent the past two months putting six sterilisers
through a set of strict testing criteria. Here they give their honest
opinions on the features and benefits of each model on test.

'Great quality and built to last'
 Sterilises bottles
and feeding equipment in just six minutes and keeps them fully sterile
for a further 6 hours (provided the lid isn't removed). You can also opt
for a repeated six minute cycle which continues for 24 hours and gives
you 'ready to use' feeding equipment whenever you need it. It holds five
or six bottles with a special internal rack for the ISIS
breastpump and the baskets can be used for pre-washing equipment in
the dishwasher.
 It's designed for
use with Avent feeding equipment so if you use chunkier/wide neck bottles
and breast pumps, you may have to 'play around with the space in order
to fit everything in'.

'Good if you require all three sterilising methods'
It's
versatile, working as an electric steam, microwave and cold water steriliser
with capacity for 6 wide neck bottles plus accessories. The set includes
a breast pump and bottles so it offers good value for money.
The
bulky frame makes it awkward to store and it's tricky to get the plastic
pieces apart which allow it to convert from electric to microwave. You
also need a big microwave to accommodate it and there are too many parts
which make it look a tad daunting on first inspection.

'One of the quickest on test'
Rapid
six minute sterilisation cycle with heat sensitivity handle that indicates
when steriliser is hot. It has a good use of space and happily holds six
wide neck bottles or up to eight smaller bottles. It's relatively easy
to clean and has the ability to keep feeding equipment sterile for three
hours after use (providing the lid is kept shut). The set includes two
Bruin bottles, a bottle warmer insert to heat food and a handy clip to
keep the lid firmly shut
The heating
element starts to tarnish quickly which doesn't bode well for longevity
and it can be difficult to store all of the teats/ accessories on the
top tray.

'Unbeatable value for money'
The sterilisation cycle
is just 6 minutes and it's equipped with a bottle warming system that
warms your baby's milk in just 3 minutes (and saves you money on extra
bottle warming equipment!).
Other benefits include a heat sensitive handle, bottle tongs, water measure
with filter and an easy clean stainless steel element to combat limescale.
You can also remove the power cord for easy cleaning and storageI
It's quite chunky
and the element needs to be cleaned after each use which can be a pain.

'A must-have for every parent'
A great
option for travels or those who don't require bulk sterilisation - these
bottles sterilise in the microwave in as little as 90 seconds without
any other equipment. Up to six 250ml bottles can be sterilised at the
same time and the timings are printed on the side of the bottle so you
really can't go wrong.
You can also sterilise them using cold water and/or electric
steam.
Small
microwaves won't hold six bottles but you're unlikely to need them all
at once anyway!

'A winning design'
In terms
of looks, this wins hands down and it doesn't disappoint on sterilisation
either. The digital display shows you which stage of sterilisation it's
at and it has a handy three hour countdown to advise you how long the
bottles remain sterile for. Other features include a hinged lid that keeps
condensation inside when opened, detachable sterile work surface and accessories
including three bottles, cup and bottle brush.
Sterilisation
takes around 10 minutes so a touch longer than some of the other units.
