About disposablesDisposable nappies are easy to use, slim fitting and extremely convenient - especially when out and about with baby. Prices vary massively between brands and since the majority of parents spend a small fortune throughout their child's nappy wearing life, it's worth taking a look at how the less expensive brands stack up against the market leaders.
Our panel have tested five different disposables from supermarket own brands to the ever popular Huggies and Pampers nappies. They found that 'as all babies vary in shape and size, it's essential to find a nappy that works for you and your tot'. 'Nappies with wide stretchy side panels tend to offer the most in terms of comfort as they allow you to create a snug comfortable fit that minimises leaks'. Which nappies won?The Best buy award was jointly won by Pampers Baby Dry ('superb fit and great absorbency around the clock') and Boots Maxi Nappies ('high backed with elasticated side panels that ensure a leak-free fit'). Best value went to Tesco's Super Fit - 'a neat, snug fitting nappy at a really competitive price'. At £5.49 for a pack, Pampers Baby Dry were one of the most expensive brands on test, though our panel agreed 'the quality and knowing baby will be kept dry and comfortable for hours make them worth every penny'.
