Booster seats and grow-tallsWhen your child gets too big or grown up to use a highchair, a booster seat comes into its own. These are moulded plastic seats which strap onto an ordinary chair, raising the child up to the table. Portable, fold-up varieties are useful if you go out a lot. Boosters don’t usually have the facility to attach a harness, however, so they are only suitable for children old enough to sit safely on their own. Another useful gadget to look out for is a ‘grow-tall’ - a heavy duty, sprung plastic device which fits onto the legs of kitchen or dining chairs, and raises the height of the chair so that your child can reach the table.
