Star-style pampering for bumps and babies
The latest must-have on planet celebrity is a baby, or at very least a bump. Even Ken Livingstone seems to have got the message.
All this celebrity reproduction has lead to the launch of a huge range of beauty products for pregnancy and baby, to soothe the swollen ankles of the beautiful and smooth the bottoms of pampered offspring.
We take you through some of the products beloved of celebrity mums, so you can enjoy some classy pampering too!
For mums
Down-to-earth celebrity mum Davina McCall swore by Thalgo's algae infused Stretch Mark Cream (£19.50 for 100ml, call 020 7512 0872 for stockists) in pregnancy to avoid those dreaded marks caused by baby Holly Willow and all the cream crackers she craved during her pregnancy.
Davina also used Guerlain's Midnight Secret (£49.50 from department stores) to cheat that radiant pregnancy glow on days when she was looking more exhausted than elated by impending motherhood.
Space NK is a well known celebrity haunt, with Madonna and Gwyneth queuing up to buy goodies from the Stila and Nars ranges. The store has started stocking Selph products, designed specifically for mums and mums-to-be. Selph products are fragrance free and include an aluminium free deoderant. The cleansing tissues cost £12 , (call 020 7299 4999 for details).
And hot on the heels of the craze for organic food, come organic beauty products, with special emphasis on purity during pregnancy. Dr Hauschka is famed for his use of natural and organic products. Peer inside pregnant Kate Moss or maternal girl Madonna's make-up bag and you'll find Dr Hauschka's Rose Day Cream (£14), which was also a favourite with the recently pregnant Cate Blanchett and Helena Christiansen, as was the horse chesnut Fitness Leg Spray, (£10), for tired or swollen pins.
Brand of choice for Sadie Frost, who seems to pop a baby out every nine months these days, is Ren. Their organic approach to products has made the Monoi Moisturising Body Rinse, (£14.95), a must-have in the Law household.
For babies
Of course, celebrity babies get as much pampering as their mothers these days. Molton Brown's Go Baby Go range is a permanent fixture in Mr and Mrs Fatboy Slim's bathroom - Zoe Ball confesses that bathtime is her favourite time of day with baby Woody, and Wash Baby Wash, (£14), ensures that Woody's skin stays soft and fragrant.
The rich and famous know that it's never to early to start looking after your skin, and to prove it Bobbi Brown, whose cosmetics are adored by celebs and make-up artists alike, has launched an extensive range for babies in the US, including a luscious Soothing Body Balm, which can be ordered online and is soon to be available here.
Brit-star Kate Winslet can't get enough of Crabtree & Evelyn's Tom Kitten products, (from £2.95), which she uses to soothe both her and baby Mia's skin. The range is supposed to ensure mildness and gentle conditioning for delicate skin, and judging by Kate's glowing skin and Mia's rosy cheeks, it must be working!
