Urinary FrequencyIn the first two or three months of your pregnancy, you may need to pee much more often than usual. This is because your womb starts to press on your bladder so that it cant hold as much urine as usual. Also, the increased blood supply to your pelvic area can make your bladder feel full so that you need to empty it more frequently. The extra blood also makes you produce more urine than usual.
After about 12 weeks, your womb rises out of your pelvis and this reduces the pressure on your bladder. But at the end of your pregnancy the pressure returns when your babys head moves down into your pelvis, ready to be born, and presses on your bladder. If you feel the need to pee very frequently, and you have a burning sensation when you do, you may have cystitis. |
