While there are, in fact, very few over the counter or prescription drugs which are definitely known to be harmful to unborn babies, it is wise to be cautious during pregnancy. Remember that anything you take by mouth, put on your skin, breathe in or inject may either pass through to your baby or change the way your body works and possibly cause harm to your baby. This includes nutritional supplements and alternative treatments like herbal preparations, massage and aromatherapy oils and homeopathic remedies. Always ask for advice from a pharmacist or doctor.
