Pension Questions to ask

Here is a checklist of questions which you will need to ask if you are in either a company pension or personal pension:

•   What happens to the life cover with my pension? (Particularly important if you are in a company pension scheme.)
•   Will I receive maternity pay, and if so will my employer continue to contribute to my pension?
•   If I receive maternity pay should I continue my own contributions, and if so, how much?
•   If I do not continue my contributions is my pension frozen? If so, can I restart it at a later date without penalty?
•   How will my pension fund grow while I am not contributing?
•   Can I add a lump sum to my pension at a later date?
