Baby books: Six months to 12 months

THIS MONTH'S FAVE RAVE:
Snappy Teeth, by Jane Cabrera

Who has no teeth? A sweet-looking frog. Who has long teeth? A friendly walrus. Who has goofy teeth? An endearing turtle. And whose teeth (or possibly, bare gums) are those at the back of the book? Children will be able to find out when they look in the shiny mirror set into the last page of this colourful board book.

Mum of eight-month-old twins comments: “This book is really popular with the babies. They like the cheerful faces of the creatures and are starting to appreciate the mirror at the end.”

HONOURABLE MENTION:
Who's That?, written by Isobel Gamble and illustrated by Tim Warnes
Here's the story of tired Daisy Dog, who goes looking for her cosy kennel. On the way she encounters lots of different animals in the wrong snoozing places - they are hidden by the half-page flaps, which your baby will love (if not tear, chew and scrunch!). Finally Daisy Dog finds the cosiest place of all... next to her mother's furry coat. A very sweet book.
