THIS MONTH'S FAVE RAVE:
Little Orange Submarine, by Ken Wilson-Max
|
For any of you who have action-loving children, her e's a book with good technical language for would-be underwater adventurers. The orange submarine dives down to rescue a whale trapped in a net, and
see lots of interesting things along the way. The moving tabs work well - try out the snip-snapping mechanical arm of the sub as it clips the net-trap.
Mum of a two year-old comments: "My son likes machines and for things to be happening in books. This is good because of the tabs - he feels involved."

HONOURABLE MENTION:
Sometimes I Like to Curl up in a Ball, written by Vicki Churchill and illustrated by Charles Fuge |
Told first-hand, this is the tale of an unusual-looking creature who is just like any other 'young one'
because he loves to explore and get dirty, race around and make lots of noise. "Sometimes I like to run ever so fast, I sometimes come first, but I sometimes come last." And when he's tired, guess where he likes to curl up in a ball? In a parent's arms at home inside the cosiest of nests.
