Baby books: Six months to 12 months

THIS MONTH'S FAVE RAVE:
Whose Baby Am I? by
John Butler
This is a book oozing with 'aah-factor', where sweet young creatures of the wild ask: 'Whose baby am I?' Turn over the page, and the koala, seal, panda and other parents are all there, ready to cuddle and protect their little ones. This book will grow with your child, as there's simple picture-match about the parents and their offspring at the back of the book.

Mum of an 11 month-old comments: "The animals are really appealing - they look right out of the page at you. It's a great book to cuddle up with."

HONOURABLE MENTION:
Peepo Baby by Nicola Smee
Here's a bouncy text that you can easily put a sing-song voice to when reading it with your child. 'Peepo kitten, I see you, Hiding in the basket, Peepo! Boo!' it goes, alongside a softly-painted picture of a bouncing baby in a romper suit. The baby is peeping through her fingers at a kitten who's also peeping out from her basket. The rhyme enjoys the playfulness of the baby and the playfulness of the kitten, and at the end when they're both asleep, your own baby can carefully stroke the kitten's soft fur that is set into the boardbook cover.
