Blocked duct
This can cause a small, tender lump in your breast. A blocked duct occurs when breast
milk has been stopped from flowing freely, perhaps by a tight bra, or if you have slept
awkwardly, or if your breasts have been engorged.
Remedies
- Use warmth and massage to gently disperse the lump
- Feed your baby frequently, positioning his lower jaw nearest to the lump
- Feed from the sore side first
- Massage and express after a feed if you can still feel the lump
