Baby Massage - about New Stork TimesFrom Money to Massage Helen Pritchard worked in finance at Social Services at the time of the birth of her first child. Like most first-time mothers, Helen would never have been able to guess how the life-changing act of birth would transform her whole life. Suddenly, the nine to five didn't fit in with family life. Her pre-baby life just didn't cut it anymore and Helen decided to dig deep and find a life-path that fitted her new-mother outlook and was flexible enough to allow her children to be her priority. Baby number two followed just 22 months later and whilst on maternity leave (and indeed still feeding) she found herself sat at the local adult education college. She had always held a passion for reflexology and decided to train in all aspects of Holistic Therapy. Once she was qualified Helen decided that alongside her usual therapies she would focus in particular on helping women and couples during pregnancy, birth and early parenting. A qualification in Maternity Reflexology soon followed and a thriving practice was born in Cheshire. Out of this practice came an interest in the practice and benefits of Baby Massage. Baby Massage has been shown to kick start or strengthen the parent-child bond and increase the attachment between parent and baby. It also reduces pain and discomfort, colic, teething, indigestion etc. Baby Massage can help the baby to sleep and develop improved sleeping patterns in the infant. Having seen and heard the benefits for herself Helen trained to become a qualified Infant Massage Instructor with the Federation of Holistic Therapists. While teaching a variety of Baby Massage classes and one-to-one sessions to new parents Helen became aware that there were a huge number of parents unable to benefit. They were unable to attend a class for various reasons: there was no local practitioner or class available; no classes at a convenient time or place; or because of financial considerations. Having seen the benefits of massage for new parents and babies, Helen became dedicated to finding a solution to these problems. On the 1st Dec 2009 New Stork Times was born. An innovative service that would allow parents to download digital tutorials which take them step-by-step through Baby Massage routines, giving mothers and fathers all the information and techniques they need to enable them to start practicing Baby Massage in the comfort of their own home, at a time that suits both parents and baby and at their own pace. Parents can also purchase a Baby Massage DVD if they prefer. Helen offers all customers unparalleled support via email, webinars and webchats with Baby Massage experts. Thanks to the Helen's New Stork Times website all parents can now benefit from accessible, affordable and comprehensive Baby Massage routines and information. As a long standing member of babyworld.co.uk and regular contributor to the forums and keeper of pregnancy diaries (winning Pregnancy Diary of the Month no less) babyworld is the ideal partner for New Stork Times.
