Loving your child doesn't just mean kisses and cuddles but taking
care of his health and giving him time, for instance! So, take heart this
Valentine's there are so many ways you can show your love for your little
one, here are 10 to start with!
- Cut your childs health
risks by staying away from drugs, alcohol and tobacco.

Set time aside to read to
your child and help his or her brain develop.
- Talk to your health visitor
to ensure your childs immunisations are up to date.
- Baby-proof your home
make sure medicines are locked away and that cleaning supplies and small objects are out
of reach.
- Make sure your child is safe
when travelling check car seats are installed properly and older children are
buckling up in the back.
- Stay a little longer at your
childs nursery or childminder to make sure both your child and the care-giver are
happy.
- Encourage your child and
raise self-esteem. 'Well done, you can do it' and 'what a big boy/girl', will show how
much you care and what an interest you take.
- Provide structure to your
childs day limit TV, enforce bedtimes and help your child respond by
providing an easy routine.
- Make sure you say Im
sorry, please and thank you in front of your child how else will they learn?
