Our babyworld taste testers were:

  • Mum Allison and baby Eilidh, from Scotland
  • Mum Sarah and baby Fletcher, from Dorset
  • Mum Michelle and baby James, from Gloucestershire
  • Mum Alison and baby Ross, from Yorkshire
  • Mum Scarlett and baby Poppy, from Oxfordshire
  • Mum Sarah and twins Jessica and Chloe from Essex

Eilidh
Eilidh is a second child who adores big brother seven-year-old Peter, who in turn dotes on his little sister. She feeds mainly on jars of food but loves finger food and likes to sample her parents’ dinner. She tries a variety of tastes including creamed rice, custard, Angel Delight, Weetabix and Ready Brek, as well as mashed banana and bites of ripe pear. She often has Boots Organic and has also had Hipp as well.

Eilidh's favourite savoury: Baby Organix vegetable and coconut korma.
Eilidh's favourite sweet: Baby Organix pear, apple and oats.

Fletcher
Fletcher was teething during this taste test but battled on in the interests of helping babies everywhere. He has two big sisters, Tessa, 6, and Mollie, 3, who all ate jars for the first year or so. His favourite foods are rusks and egg custard but he has eaten organic food fairly often. He found some of the food a bit too lumpy.

Fletcher's favourite savoury: Baby Organix vegetable and coconut korma.
Fletcher's favourite sweet: Baby Organix pear, apple and oats.

James
James was only too happy to give his opinion on the baby foods, shuddering and spitting out those that did not pass muster with him. Those jars he liked he was happy to demolish all over again at a second tasting. He didn’t try the Baby Organix rice pudding or the Hipp fruit duet as both contain apricots and he is allergic to these.

James' favourite savoury: Baby Organix vegetable and coconut korma.
James' favourite sweet: he was very keen on four: Boots banana and peach; Baby Organix pear, apple and oats; Bio Bambini pear pudding and Bio Bambini apple and blueberry pudding.

Ross
Ross is a second child and usually has homemade food but if he does have a jar, it’s an organic one.

Ross' favourite savoury: Bio Bambini beef, carrot and potato and Bio Bambini chicken, carrot and potato.
Ross' favourite sweet: Hipp fruit duet and tropical fruit salad.

Poppy
Poppy wasn’t very well during the taste test and didn’t try the Bio Bambini beef because she was not well enough. She is a first child and nearly always has homemade food with organic ingredients where possible. She sometimes has jars, when her parents are travelling or staying with friends and always has organic in such cases. She prefers homemade food but is not a fussy eater.

Poppy's favourite savoury: Baby Organix vegetable and coconut korma.
Poppy's favourite sweet: Boots banana and peach compote.

Jessica and Chloe
Jessica and Chloe are twins, conceived by IVF although it took three attempts before the success of the two girls. They are the love of their parents’ lives and they have most of their food cooked by their mum, which she describes as hard work but worth it. They do have jars and tins when travelling.

Jessica and Chloe's favourite savoury: Boots Organic vegetable and turkey bake (Jessica also liked the Bio Bambini beef recipe, but Chloe hated it).
Jessica and Chloe's favourite sweet: Hipp fruit duet.
