The facts about cloth nappies
We have put together a sheet of facts about the use of cloth nappies.
Better for baby
|
 |
- Overall savings of up to £600 when compared with disposable
nappies over a 2 year period.
- Babies in cotton nappies tend to potty train sooner since they
are able to recognise the sensations of going to the toilet more
easily.
- Nappies can be reused on your next child, saving even more next
time round. A baby on average will use the size 1 nappies with
newborn and small covers until they are approximately 4-6 months
old. You will then move on to size 2 nappies and the medium and
large covers, this will often be enough up to potty training.

- No plastics, chemicals or gels, just 100% pure cotton.
- Cotton is naturally breathable allowing the baby to regulate
their body temperature more effectively.
- By using cotton nappies, feel assured that your baby is less
likely to get nappy rash, since pure cotton is soft and gentle
on their skin with no concealed chemicals or perfumes.
- The nappies are beautifully comfortable with soft bound leg
cuffs and waistband ensuring a perfect fit for all shapes and
sizes.

Nappy sizes and Recommended quantities
|
 |
A baby on average will use the size 1 nappies with newborn and
small covers until they are approximately 4-6 months old. You will
then move on to size 2 nappies and the medium and large covers,
this will often be enough up to potty training.
- 24 nappies size 1
A newborn baby will need a nappy change approximately 7/8 times
in 24 hours. With 24 nappies you will need to wash every third
day when you have a full load for the machine. Having fewer nappies
and washing more often can be inconvenient and is not cost effective.
- 24 nappies size 2
When the baby goes into this size nappy, you will be changing
less often. Use the size 1 nappy folded inside the size 2 nappy
to boost the absorbency at night time when the baby gets the top
end of this size range.
- miosoft covers
Between 3-5 covers of one size are required. Occasionally more
covers may be required when the baby is small and you are changing
frequently.
- mioliners
1 pack of biodegradable liners contains 200 sheets, enough for
approx 1 month of changes.
- Twins
Twins do not need double the amount of nappies, 36 of each size
should be enough. 1 BTP plus 1 newborn nappy set and 1 medium
nappy set. Or as a start 3 NB nappy sets.
