Mum
discovers solution to baby eczema
New solutions for childhood eczema to help mums this National Eczema
Week 12th-19th September
Picture the scene - a new baby that has such severe eczema you have to
remove his nappy every time he does even the smallest wee, for fear of
blistering and irritation. How do you cope?
Never put a nappy on him again and live like a hermit for the next two
and half years? Or find an alternative nappy solution that improves the
problem?
Mother of three, Caitlin Castillo, chose the latter, but a solution wasn't
obvious. Having tried all the main nappy brands available in the UK, she
came across the Moltex Öko nappy but it was not easy to come by.
Unperturbed, she set about investigating how to import the product from
Germany and after many weeks of bureaucratic form filling, finally got
the nappies delivered to her home. The effect was almost instant and there
was improvement overnight! In fact within 3 weeks, her son's skin had
improved so much he wasn't sore anymore, he'd stopped crying and everyone
was much happier.
Around 10-20% of babies have eczema during their first year of life.
Some babies are affected by it very early, whereas others develop it later
on. Caitlin believes many would benefit from trying these nappies along
with other products she has tried and tested over the years on her children.
She says "If you have a baby that suffers with eczema you want to try
anything that may help soothe their skin and ease their discomfort. The
products I have found over the years have been such a relief for me and
my children and I want to share this knowledge with other mums to try
and make life a little easier."
Along with the nappies, Caitlin decided to develop her own eco friendly
baby wipes and degradable nappy sacks too. She also strongly recommends
Yaoh organic hemp sun blocks and after sun - great for her eczema suffering
children as they don't irritate the skin or clog pores but do provide
great protection and allow the skin to absorb vitamin D.
All the products are available to order on Caitlin's website www.naturebotts.co.uk.
