It
was fantastic to finally see
who I'd been 'chatting' to for so long!
Zoe
Tapping contacted us to let us know that the members of her babyworld
antenatal club had two meet-ups, in Bristol and Manchester, when she finally
got to meet the other mums she had got to know so well on-line.
"I joined the July 2005 Club last November when I got my BFP (Big Fat
Positive!) It was great going through pregnancy with so many others. We
helped each other through morning sickness, we compared bump sizes with
rolls of loo roll, we shared our most intimate and embarrassing symptoms/ailments,
and most importantly we made each other laugh.
As
'our month' got nearer, we made up a 'buddy system' so the club could
be informed asap about the arrival of each little bundle of joy. It was
great to log on each day and read birth announcement after birth announcement.
(In a way it was sad when all the babies had arrived as there were no
more announcements to read!).
Now
that all the babies are here, we swap details of our little ones' weigh-ins
and reactions to vaccinations etc. We also share the funny things our
little angels (or sometimes little devils) do, and we help each other
with any worries we may have. I personally log onto the July 2005 Club
every day, and so do a lot of the other members. I really feel that these
ladies and Simon, our "token bloke" as he calls himself are good friends.
We've shared such an important part of our lives over the past months,
that we've developed a very strong bond.
Our
club has held 2 'Meet-Ups' lately, the first one in Bristol, and the second
in Manchester. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the one in Manchester.
It was fantastic to finally see who I'd been 'chatting' to for so long.
The ladies were just as nice in person as they are in cyberland, and the
babies were just adorable - we really are a lucky bunch.
I hope that the members of the July 2005 antenatal Club will stay together
for a very long time to come. I know many of us will go on to have more
babies and become members of other clubs, but I hope we can all continue
to belong to this one as well."
