Bedfordshire Claireb0212

I love Bedfordshire because it has a great mix of busy towns and beautiful contryside. Nothing is nicer than strolling along Bedford river on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

The best attraction in Bedfordshire has to be Woburn. You have the Safari park for the kids and the Abbey for the older generation it caters for all tastes. Also you can't beat a good fun afternoon at Oasis swimming pool!

The best attraction in Buckinghamshire is Gullivers! Brilliant day our for both parents and their children!

Cambridgeshire Deenic

I love Cambridgeshire because many parts of it are very picturesque and it is dotted with quaint "thatched roof" type villages and country pubs which serve amazing homecooked food!
The best place to visit in Cambridgeshire is Cambridge itself - it offers a whole host of great things to see and do and it steeped in history, boasting the beautiful college buildings, the river, and a great outdoor shopping centre with some lovely posh clothes shops! Parking is a bit of a nightmare but the local park and ride scheme works really well so there's no need to drive into the centre if you don't want to.

My favourite family restaurant is a lovely little Italian place in Huntingdon called Prima. The food is wonderful, well priced, and families are always made welcome. They have a fantastic set lunchtime menu but you'll have to book if you want a table in the evening as I'm not the only person who loves it there and it gets booked up fairly quickly!
A great family day out is a little place called Hamerton Zoo near Sawtry, just off the A1 towards Peterborough. Its reasonably priced and is small enough for little legs to cope with wandering around the whole zoo. As well as a gorgeous white tiger and cheetahs, there is a petting zoo where you can feed the goats and a small cafe and gift shop.

Cheshire Blue_Belles

I love Cheshire because:
Cheshire has wonderful lush countryside, from stately houses to visit such as Arley Hall, Lyme Park and of course Tatton Park. A wonderful city centre such as Chester, old towns such as Sandbach with its black and white buildings and the Saxon crosses on the cobbles. Cheshire also has its war time places to visit such as the bunker in Nantwich as a prime example.

Do you want a garden centre? Then there is Bridgemere Garden World and Stapeley Water Gardens. Bridgemere has its own separate farm park which is ideal for the families to visit. Stapeley water gardens have many pets, fish (including Koi carp) and the Tropical gardens where you can see parrots, small sharks, turtles and not forgetting the wonderful little monkeys.

The best place to visit in Cheshire is: Chester! Not only does it have its old fashioned, beautiful architectural buildings, old cathedral and roman walls it also has the local Chester Zoo, Chester Races, Cheshire Oaks is situated at Ellesmere Port with its vast amount of shopping outlets at discount prices. Chester is not the only favourite place to shop in my eyes, I love Nantwich, as with Chester, Nantwich has its black and white Tudor buildings too, as does Sandbach.

I love visiting Stapeley Water gardens, the tropical gardens are lovely and warm and the monkeys are my favourite animals and the iguanas are my favourite amphibians.

The shopping centre in Chester is great because: Chester caters for all ages, from the modern to older generation boutiques, from toy shops to the antique shops. Chester has a large variety of antique shops and also places to eat! Chester isn't the only shopping centre in Cheshire, Sandbach is one of my favourites!

Sandbach is home to the manufacturing of Foden Lorries, old fashioned buildings and its annual Elizabethan market on the first Monday in May. Sandbach is, like many Cheshire towns, known for its market. If you ever get the chance to visit Sandbach you will see the Old Saxon crosses on the cobbles, protected by fencing now yet when I was younger you could happily sit on the steps beside the crosses. Make sure once you are on the cobbles to visit Williams Delicatessen, mmm the smell of coffee from there and the smells inside of fresh meat and cheeses, it surely makes my mouth water on the occasions we visit.

You'll love Cheshire because: The architecture of many of the towns, Northwich with its Anderton boat lift, Chester with its Roman walls, Sandbach with its Saxon crosses, Nantwich with its Tudor style, black and white buildings, Macclesfield because of the Silk industry.

My favourite family restaurant in Cheshire is: Conti's, Conti's is situated in Disley, a lovely Italian in Disley Cheshire (Disley is on the border between Derbyshire and Cheshire) If you visit Conti's with your children, they are allowed to help create their own pizzas, my Son, Declan did as such and he really enjoyed the experience and the welcoming atmosphere of the staff. The food is plentiful and gorgeous!

The best attractions in Cheshire are: Chester zoo and Stapeley Water gardens, both not far off the local motorways and both featuring plenty of different animals, insects and amphibians, I could never have one favourite attraction, I love the countryside to walk in and explore when the weather is far too nice to be stood in shops

The shops are great, plenty of places to eat out, and we also now have Play Planet, a soft play center for children of all ages. If you are feeling energetic, you could always walk part of the Offas Dyke trail. It is said to be the most picturesque of all Nature Trails. At 150 miles long,it starts in Chepstow, passes through the Brecon Beacons National Park, and ends up in Prestatyn, Wales.
