Antenatal
Club meet up in Essex
March 2008 antental club meet face to face
In Dec 08 about 6 of us met up at Indigo's first birthday
party. Indigo (Mummy: Laurel / crowdpleaser1001) is the little star of
March 08, as she was born 13 weeks early. There are photos of the party
on our ANC somewhere. Anyway I got talking to one of the girls there,
Stacey, and it turned out she lived a couple of miles from where I lived
a few years previously, before moving to Cheshire. As I still have friends
in Essex and visit whenever I can, I said I'd let her know next time I
was down and we could meet up.

Stacey with Ewan, Caroline with Eleanor, Melanie with
Chloe, Laurel with Indigo & Blossom, Allie with Phoebe.
A couple of weeks ago I finally got round to visiting our
friends in Essex. So beforehand I mentioned to Stacey and Allie (who actually
lives quite near where I did before I moved to the place near Stacey!)
that I was in Essex and shall we meet up? They both agreed and Stacey
asked Laurel to come along from Milton Keynes. I also asked Melanie from
Ipswich as that isn't that far away. Allie suggested Coffee Nation cafe
at Freeport Designer Outlet Village in Braintree and we all agreed it
sounded like a good place. We put a thread on our ANC about it to see
if anyone else living nearby could make it. A couple of girls from London
wanted to go but couldn't make it, but hope to next time.
I got there a few minutes early and bagged a little area
for us all. When everyone arrived we all recognised each other from photos
or from meeting up before. Even those who hadn't met each other before
knew each other by all the chatting we had been doing on Baby World. We
chatted about our children, and other ANC members and how they are doing.
Some of the ANC meet up with other members from time to time so we chatted
about the ones we've met before too. Sounds like March 08 is one big happy
family!
We had a lovely time and all the children get on well. Laurel
brought her new baby Blossom with her. Blossom managed to stay put for
a few weeks longer than Indigo! We all cooed over her as she's so cute.
Most of us bought cakes to go with our drinks and some of the children
gobbled up the cakes before their mums got a look in! My and Allie's husbands
came along, so we used them for entertaining the children and taking the
photos! Afterwards we all went our separate ways and a few of us bumped
into each other while shopping. We all can't wait until the next meet
up!
We are all in the process of organising a big meet up in
the summer for the whole club, so we will tell you all about it too.
