Meet the antenatal clubs midwife Amber

As well as working as babyworld's antenatal adviser, Amber is also an experienced independent midwife, working outside the NHS, in and around the Berkshire area.

She provides a personalised, independent midwifery service to women and their families who are planning homebirths, and also provides care and support to women who are planning hospital births.

Amber is a fully trained and registered midwife. She carried out a 3 year direct entry course in midwifery and passed with a first class honours degree.

A few words from Amber

I have been fascinated by pregnancy and childbirth for as long as I can remember and always knew my calling was to be a midwife. I am passionate about midwifery and enjoy working with women and their families. I especially love homebirths and waterbirths, and have helped women achieve vaginal births after caesareans, both in their own homes and in hospital.

I believe that the birth of a baby is the single most precious moment in any parent's life, and it is important for women to explore all the options when considering where and how to give birth. I think that finding the safest and most comfortable environment is key to the birthing experience. Preparing for labour helps women feel confident in themselves and their ability to give birth to their baby. That's why babyworld's antenatal classes can be so helpful in providing women and their partners with information to help them make informed choices about their care.

It's exciting for me to be a part of all this and to have the opportunity of offering help and support to a far greater number of pregnant women and their partners than it's been possible to do before.
